A robot working without documentation is a risk for the employer. We hand over the installation with the documents the law and your insurer ask for.
What applies and from when
Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery replaces Directive 2006/42/EC and applies from 20 January 2027. It explicitly covers systems with self-evolving behaviour and safety software.
In parallel the EU AI Act applies to artificial intelligence systems, the Cyber Resilience Act to connected products and the GDPR to camera and staff data. A robot on a production line touches all four.
Six documents that stay in your file
Risk assessment
To ISO 12100 for the specific assembly at your site.
Technical file
Drawings, configuration, measurements, instructions in your language.
Safety zone analysis
To ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative operation.
AI documentation
Classification under the AI Act, model description, points of human oversight.
Data map
Which data is recorded, where it is stored, who has access.
Training protocol
Who was trained, on what and when, with signatures.
How we get there
On-site hazard analysis
Recording trapping, collision and access points on the floor.
Designing measures
Zones, guards, scanners, speeds, procedures.
Documentation
Writing the file and instructions, in Greek and English.
Verification
Testing the safety measures against a protocol, before production starts.
What we do not do
We are not a notified body and we do not issue third-party certificates. We prepare the file, run the tests and work with an external body where one is required.
If somebody promises to take on all legal liability for the installation at your site, read the contract carefully. The employer remains responsible for operation, which is why we insist on training and documentation.
